Yomaez – Dreaming [Review]

Yomaez brings a subdued piece of chillwave inspired electronic pop to the table, with ‘Dreaming’ being the first solo release from this talented producer from Adelaide.

In 2016, Yomaez branched out from the two-piece electronic outfit, Water Park, and decided to showcase his own sound. The result is ‘Dreaming’, which is his own take on the electronic duo’s first release. The tune is equally soft and empowering at the same time, with the lofty vocal style mixing well with the deep underlying thud of the rhythmic bass. It creates a poignant yet slightly harrowing vibe that immerses you into a sonic sea of wonder.

There is constant anticipation from start to finish, which again stems from the impressive vocal variations. This, accompanied with the fantastically constructed production methods, together create a sensation that the inevitable drop will turn this cut into a dutty banger. However, the drop never comes and allows the record to carry a sense of decorum. This is by no means a pretentious ploy, it’s clearly a conscious decision to set the track apart from others in the cannon.

So if you are in the mood to sink back and relax after a hard days graft, or even want something to validate your melancholic state of mind, look no further as this is the remedy. Hopefully we wont have to wait for too long for more from the producer from down under, so keep an eye out.
