West Bestern – A Fine Rescue [Review]

A Fine Rescue is the new track from the lucid Lo-fi outfit, West Bestern.

West Bestern describe their sound as ‘stoner bedroom pop for sober companions’ and it is easy to see why. There’s a lusciously hazy vibe to their work, best seen in the way the vocals weave around the chorusy guitar effects. The smooth vocal melodies and squealing guitar licks ride on the same wave of the increasingly popular bedroom pop genre, keeping with it’s core principles of being well crafted and designed to make you sway.

Their twee style can also be seen an evolution of the indie pop sound that everyone loved in the 2010’s, creating a real sense of nostalgia to the track. This yesteryear feel is further backed up with dashes of New Romantic nuances dotted around the place. It’s the balance of reliving the past and taking from the present that has produced a record that you won’t want to put down.
