Here’s an exclusive first listen to ‘When Love Goes Wrong’, the anthemic new single from Twilight Driving.
When Love Goes Wrong is a powerful, raw and emotional indie ballad, drawing you in with honest lyrics and an undeniably sense of truth and authenticity.
While the lyrics and deep, resonating vocals give the track it’s heart, instrumentally there’s plenty to love. Screaming guitars, relentless drums and formidable piano tones build to crescendo, arriving at a sincere chorus you won’t be able to get out of your head.
Twilight Driving have clearly drawn influences from both past and present, honouring varied sounds, from The War on Drugs and The National more recently, to legends like David Bowie and Bruce Springsteen. It’s this dynamic and forceful approach to songwriting that has served the band well on this stunning new track ‘When Love Goes Wrong’.
The band’s Will Mavin describes the origins of the single:
“We’ve all come to a point in a relationship where feelings start to change. ‘When Love Goes Wrong’ explores the narrative within a person’s mind when they begin to realise these changing feelings, and the implications of them. Whether it’s working through the feelings together or giving up, it’s a universal issue I think everyone goes through. At the time of writing this song I felt a general sense of discontent, which I think played into the feelings I was having in my relationship.”
‘When Love Goes Wrong’ by Twilight Driving is available from 14th February 2018.
