Tipling Rock – Prima Donna [Review]

Bostonian beach pop four-piece Tipling Rock showcase their chilled summer vibes with their latest single ‘Prima Donna’.

Independent and self-produced, Tipling Rock are one of the hottest bands stepping onto the indie-pop scene. The quartet have spent a few days at number one on Spotify’s global viral charts and have had their music featured on several of Spotify’s curated playlists. The rising stars have even played opening shows for the likes of Lil Uzi Vert, Magic City Hippies and TV Girl.

The band have a similar sound to Cage the Elephant and The Strokes. Their catalogue of songs all have cheerful bouncy beats and feel good guitar licks. ‘Prima Donna’ is the band’s latest release and it is set to be a summer hit. The track is intended to be played with the “top down” and has the unique ability to make anyone smile. The single begins with a refreshingly upbeat guitar melody that grooves along with Ben Andre’s catchy lyricism and smooth baritone vocals. Yet, the shining moment of the track is the final piano and guitar breakdown that makes its listeners (even those who live in the rainiest, landlocked destinations) want to pick up a surfboard and run to the beach.
