Tears of Happiness – Lift Me Up [Review]

Dance Pop duo Tears of Happiness have just released their new single “Lift Me Up” and it may just be your perfect summer anthem.

At first glance, listeners could mistake this track as a typical commercial Dance Pop anthem, however the uplifting lyrics holds a much more meaningful message. Singer, Meeda aims to spread awareness about the struggles of mental illness through the duo’s music and wants their listeners to know that “there is a way out from feeling this low and alone”. These heart-felt lyrics coupled with a light-hearted and upbeat track effectively radiates this positivity.

Tears of Happiness’ previous tracks have earned their place in the top 10 and top 20 in Music Weeks’ Commercial Pop Dance Charts. Their mental health message adds to the originality of their work in the Electro Pop scene which I’d like to see more of, especially in their music.

This single has all the components of a typical Pop Dance anthem, from its beat drops to its distinctive electro vibes. Its catchy beats and bright sound contributes to its feel-good attitude. However, the message is what really distinguishes itself from the rest of the Dance charts.
