Satellite Stories – Coupons [Review]

The Finish indie pop troupe Satellite Stories have dropped their newest track ‘Coupons’ from their fifth album ‘Cut Out The Lights’ which is due to be released in September.

The single premiered last week at CLASH who called it a ‘fizzling, cracking, explosive return.’ Since the band formed in 2008 they have taken the music scene by storm with over 60 million streams worldwide and they have also headlined shows in over 17 countries. In 2012 they were the 2nd most blogged artist according to Hype Machine.

The band are well established in their sound and have a growing global fan base. The sound of ‘Coupons’ reminded me of the indie pop style of Two Door Cinema Club. Melodic upscaling and incessant guitar riffs dominate the track and thus make it a compelling listen. This track is destined to be a hit and will only secure more fans for Satellite Stories. I can’t wait to hear the rest of the album when it drops in September!
