Ryan Hoffman – Never Hit Me Up [Review]

Never Hit Me Up is the latest release from rising solo artist, producer & songwriter Ryan Hoffman.

This is a room-filling pop track with heavy electronic elements and futurist-inspired vocal tones creating something great to groove to. Inspired in equal parts by Frank Ocean and Flume, Never Hit Me Up features alternative, minimalist r&b lyrics supported by a canopy of synthesizers and a pumping afrobeat.

As his third release and newest single, Never Hit Me Up marks a pivotal moment in Los Angeles-based artist Ryan Hoffman’s career. Handling all production, mixing, and mastering in his apartment during the COVID-19 quarantine, the release also marks a turning point in Ryan’s career as he settles into a new city.

After a couple years working in Nashville with acts like Cage the Elephant, Stephanie Quayle, and rising indie pop artist Kat Saul (the latter of whom co-wrote a verse on his forthcoming release), the young musician now resides in LA learning from and working with some of the area’s finest producers/writers like Dru DeCaro (Miguel, Vic Mensa, member of 93Punx) and Mike Daley (Jason Derulo, Lady Gaga, Chris Brown).
