RGB – Fading [Review]

Fading is the smooth new track from RGB.

By fusing soul, jazz and R&B melodies, RGB have produced a stand out track that’s memorable from start to finish. Formed in 2019, the Tel-Aviv based group have found their sound by juxtaposing the pain and sadness in life, with the niceties it also brings. Fading is a great candidate for this idea, as you get a cathartic feeling as soon as the silky tones hit your ears.

There’s a great sense of nostalgia in this one, too. The heartfelt sounds take your hand and transport you back to the soul hits of the mid-90s. The interesting variation here is that RGB use more contemporary R&B traits in tandem, such as the beat poetry rapping style of Little Simz, and shape their sound into a modern banger. If you’re feeling like you need something to pick you up, or just want to wallow in your mind, then look no further. Fading is the first instalment from RGB’s upcoming album which is due to be released in the not too distant future.
