Upcoming singer-songwriter Noah Kahan has teamed up with Julia Michaels for his new track ‘Hurt Somebody’. Check out the awesome new lyric video above.
The track starts with Noah’s smoky voice telling us, ‘taking it slowly, I’m afraid to be lonely’. Along with a very ear-pleasing guitar hook and striking melody, it already feels as though the singer has his heart right out on his sleeve. The lyrics continue, ‘nobody told me, it’s harder than I thought to tell the truth.’ That may be so, but this is a completely honest and earnest song about the emotional difficulty of ending a close relationship. Noah’s courage and pain is highly tangible.
Noah Kahan hails from Stafford, in Orange County, Vermont in the US, where his musical journey began slowly by playing to smaller audiences. He wasn’t ‘out there’ early on in terms of exposure, however his first single ‘Young Blood’ gained lots of attention. With his distinct ability to convey a finely crafted story with sincerity, Noah soon caught the eyes and the ears of some of the biggest and best songwriters in the industry, such as Scott Harris (Shawn Mendes, The Chainsmokers,) Chris DeStefano (Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson,) and Dan Wilson (Adele, John Legend). Noah decided to put off college to pursue his music career, continuing his journey from the 133-acre tree farm he grew up on, and working with New Zealand producer Joel Little who previously worked with artists such as Lorde, Khalid and Ellie Goulding.
With a tour currently in progress, including dates in the US, Canada, the UK and across Europe, and having his music featured in American TV show, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, it will be exciting to find out what else 2018 has in store for this talented singer/songwriter.
