Najuah – Running [Review]

Glitzy, synth pop from the Najuah Sisters!

Najuah, two sisters, Hanifa & Juliet born in Africa (Kenya & Zimbabwe), raised in Canada to parents that survived the civil war in Uganda. The single, Running, is filled with decadent synth lines and rousing chorus lifts, with a vocal lines ripe for remixing.

The track is chock full of retro flare with touches of modern artists like Låpsley or HAIM -- It’s solid pop writing, and well-produced. The track takes us on a noticeably different journey than their debut album Desert Moon, dropping the live instrumentation and power ballads in place of stylish drum machines, and synth pop charm.

Maybe the biggest difference comes with the extensive list of industry talent working on this track including: Donovan Jarvis (Kevin Gates, Young Thug, Austin Mahone, Musique Soulchild, Chris Brown); Mixed by Gary Noble (Amy Winehouse, Estelle, Tamia, James Arthur) & Mastered by Emily Lazar (SIA, Coldplay, Ruth B, HAIM, Morissey).

We’re definitely looking forward to what Najuah put out next, and how it compares to this stellar offering.
