Mono Club – Best Laid Plans [Review]

Fresh out of the London scene, Mono Club bring us an indie rock gem with their new single ‘Best Laid Plans’, from their debut album ‘Sky High And Submarine’.

This track is sure to grab the attention of anyone who appreciates soulful indie rock, classic rock band instruments and perfectly synced harmonies.  Their sound is relaxed and not too harsh, yet still brings all the elements of a rock band twinned with somewhat psychedelic influences.  This track has a rhythm that immediately gets your foot tapping, and has a Beatles style mod sound with the lyrical depth of The Smiths.

This track has it all; from the drums which immediately kick it off giving it that rock intro, it features some killer guitar work and vocals to match – listen out for the harmonies which are delivered beautifully and provide a peaceful contrast to the backing instrumentals.

From the start this track is upbeat, catchy and will have you singing along after the first listen.  Mono Club are set to play a string of live dates this year, and after their London gig at The Water Rats sold out, they’re sure to be in high demand.
