Ladysse – Eleven [Review]

‘Eleven’ is the euphoric new single from Detroit-based multi-instrumentalist Ladysse.

Ladyesse’s new single ‘Eleven’ was so called due to it taking multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Detroit based Stephanie Lauren eleven minutes to write. Produced by Andrew Hansen and Aaron Ruiz in Nashville and apparently inspired by the Netflix’s science fiction web series ‘Stranger Things’, ‘Eleven’ is a tale of the friendships, relationships and young love.

The euphoric and sweeping keyboard sounds and soaring vocals of ‘Eleven’ will attract fans of CHVRCHES, The 1975 and Florence and the Machine.   In lyrics such as “It’s always been you, but what if this ruins everything?” appear to have been taken straight out of Lauren’s teenage diary. This is a song full of lust, confusion and raw emotion. Whilst listening to ‘Eleven’ and thinking about the ‘Stranger Things’ influence, I could at some point in the future easily imagine this song being featured on a soundtrack for a Netflix series itself.
