Kashy – Fever [Review]

Kashy continues to push the boundaries of hip-hop with his latest track ‘Fever’.

He creates a multitude flows, whilst singing, mixing and producing all his own work. Kashy blends hip-hop, alt-rock and EDM, to compose an unusual yet catchy sound.

The genre bending artist was born in a small town in Wisconsin, but now calls North Dakota his home. During his childhood Kashy travelled around the USA, picking up bits of culture along the way. He credits his ingenuity and creativity to his nomad style upbringing.

His latest release ‘Fever’ investigates the dark allure and sorrowful reality of depression. Kashy created the song to put sound to what many go through when suffering from dark thoughts. It is filled with musically and strong beats and draws comparisons to The Weeknd and Kendrick Lamar.

The track mixes alt-rock melodies with braggadocio rap and trap, to create a feverishly addictive track. Kashy effortlessly shifts from style to style throughout the song. His angst filled delivery is contrasted by minimalist elements such as a piano backbeat, emotive vocals and introspective lyrics. In an attempt to depict the different emotions one may feel when suffering from depression.

‘Fever’ is out now and available on all major streaming platforms.
