Half Consciou$ – Restitutions [Album Review]

Half Consciou$ has released his latest album Restitutions.

This is an album that borders on the earthly and otherworldly. It’s no surprise given the name of the artist. Half Conciou$ blends dream-like production and very real lyricism effortlessly, creating an album that’s truly one of a kind.

There are many influences present, ranging from artists like Tupac and Lil Wayne, to whole genres such as jazz and lounge music. As you would expect from a rapper on the top of his game, the use of sampling is exquisite. The album starts with a poignant dialogue from The Matrix, which sets the expectation from the first second. By the time Mutts and Riots 1.5 hit your eardrum, you are fully immersed in the sensational adaptability Half Consciou$ possesses.

As mentioned before, there is so much to take from this album. Whether it’s the Tyler, The Creator inspired Blacklisted & Seminoles, or the hauntingly beautiful style of the ultimate track, Resitiutions, there is something in there for everyone. Restitutions has been out for just under a month now, so be sure to check it out.
