Erin Gibney – July [Review]

Erin Gibney’s newest single ‘July’ employs vivid imagery along with seasoned vocals to deliver a song that accurately portrays the feeling of summer love.

Performing since she was a mere 11 years old, Erin Gibney is anything but a newcomer. Coming from New England, Gibney relocated to Nashville to record her music and work alongside well-known, Grammy and Country Music-Award Winning Nashville musicians.

Gibney’s vocal abilities are beyond her years. July isn’t littered with runs, exaggerated high notes, or sustained vibrato. What’s truly impressive is the demonstrated control of her voice. She can effortlessly switch between octaves, and never misses a beat. The harmonies on the chorus are warm, light, and well placed. As far as songwriting, Gibney knows how to write a catchy chorus. Fans of early Taylor Swift and Country-Pop sweetheart Kacey Musgraves will enjoy Gibney’s adorable and well-written love song.
