Carolina – Better Off On My Own [Review]

LA-based Carolina has released her first independent single ‘Better Off On My Own.’

The Peruvian-Asian American singer-songwriter stuns with this empowering anthem where catchy melodies meet sophisticated structure. The inspiration behind this track is unsurprisingly from the foottails of an ended relationship; empowerment — specifically to and for women — has skyrocketed in the past thanks to the likes of Cardi B, Lizzo, Selena Gomez, and more.

Carolina’s worldly experience (and the fact that she’s been interested in music since the tender age of 8) bears tremendous weight on her musical style, and even musical production, as it was produced by Peruvian music producer Sonnemm.

‘Better Off On My Own’ is the perfect mix of nostalgic 2000s styles of Danity Kane and modern synthetic pop like Dua Lipa or Camila Cabello. The latter, especially thanks to the combination of English and Spanish vocals.

A great debut from a promising artist, ‘Better Off On My Own’ is an evergreen anthem for anyone in need of a little inspiration.
