CAMENS – Violent Video Games [Review]

Violent Video Games by CAMENS is feel-good indie pop, providing a light listen for any dreary day.

The bass and percussion provide a steady build up to the release of a pumped up chorus. The track is packed with guitar hooks and some solid vocals. It somehow manages to feels nostalgic and new all at once.

This could be because the band is reminiscent of the 0000’s indie pop scene. Think of the likes The Wombats, Circa Waves or The Maccabees. CAMENS have captured the essence of the genre but have breathed new life into it and made the sound their own.

CAMENS have recently appeared on BBC Introducing Stoke, so we’re not the only ones who think they have some great potential.

If you like the sound of them, make sure to head over to CAMEN’s Facebook page. They are running a competition from now until April 30th. You could win yourself a PlayStation 4 and a chance to see them live.
