The Burma – Sucker For Stars [Review]

Emerging Irish indie band The Burma’s new single ‘Sucker For Stars’ is the second release from their debut EP Her Eyes On Horizons.

It’s an infectious track, filled with jangly guitars, bouncing basslines and dreamy vocals, reminiscent of American indie scene of the early 2000s and British guitar bands such as The Smiths, James and Manic Street Preachers.

There’s a distinctive charm to The Burma’s sound, serving an intriguing mix of nostalgic, iridescent melodies and melancholic tone. They’ve created music that’s familiar and comforting, whilst also feeling new, fresh and undeniably catchy.

In the last year The Burma have already supported acts such as The Strypes, The Academic & Ryan Sheridan, and have been building momentum since the release of their first single ‘Love Fades’s back in December 2016 – check that one out below along with the rest of the band’s Her Eyes On Horizons on the horizon EP.

We reckon these lads are ones to watch for 2018, and we’ll keeping an eye out for any future tracks from The Burma.
