If you’re having one of those days when you’re just not quite a good mood, then Better than Ezra’s latest track ‘Grateful’ is almost guaranteed to make you smile and turn your day around.
With its catchy and upbeat sounds throughout, this is the perfect track that encompasses that feel good message.
The introduction starts off by being stripped back with a simple piano accompanied by an electric voice, before the band kicks in all guns blazing. The verse is outlined by the fantastic sound from the electric guitar, before the drums hit you and really fill the sound. The vocals are smoothly delivered and come across in a gentle way which makes them sound very relatable and friendly. The chorus is met with a wonderful harmonising of backing vocals from a choir, which could be mistaken for a gospel choir it’s so powerful, and really builds up the emotion behind the track.
The lyrics of the chorus are simple, and the repetition of ‘I’m gonna be grateful everyday’ and ‘shine on’ is a reminder that we need to be just that; grateful and to enjoy the little luxuries in life. This track has a very humbling message which is what I like the most, and it definitely reminds me to be thankful for the things we have.
