Bella LaBeaux – Don’t Want [Review]

This dreamy electro cut from Melbourne (but soon to be UK) based producer Bella LaBeaux is well worth a listen.

The new track ‘Don’t Want’ has been described as her strongest piece of material yet. Bella LaBeaux’s experimental production style and overall down-tempo vibe offers up a fusion of ghostly vocals and abstract sounds that we can’t get enough of.

Speaking about the new track, Bella said: “Don’t Want is not anything sad or melancholic about love, it’s really just a collection of thoughts, that you or I could think to ourselves.”

Although Bella may still be honing her craft with bedroom production, she’s created a dazzling synth-laced tune, and her otherworldly voice shines through in all the right places. Despite the song’s minimalist production, Bella still manages to create a big tune, which fills the space perfectly when hooked up to the type speakers her tracks deserve.

With influences clearly including from the likes of Jessy Lanza, ABRA, Empress of, Grimes and Banoffee, with dashings of 80s synth electro pop inspiration, Bella surely has a bright musical future and we’re looking forward to see what comes next from this ethereal emerging artist.
