Astronomers of the Strange – A Ribbon on Your Loneliness [Review]

A Ribbon on Your Loneliness is the debut track from Astronomers of the Strange.

This is one of those times when you stumble across a band that sounds just like they are supposed to. A Ribbon on Your Loneliness is cosmically whimsical with a magical retro vibe. The vocals have a twee sound to them that invites you to go on this dream-like journey with them. The whole track has an atmosphere of tender safety as if the music is a blanket of cotton wool that’s wrapping around you.

Influence wise, it’s hard to place an exact genre or artist Astronomers of the Strange would fall into. They’re perfectly unique, with elements of 50s romantic rock and roll combining with a soft, contemporary folk vocal style. With lofty melodies running throughout the whole track, you get a glimpse of the time and effort that has gone into making this excellent track. Here’s hoping there’s more to come from them in the future.
