Ash – Sugar Honey Iced Tea [Review]

As refreshing as actual Iced Tea, Ash’s newest single ‘Sugar Honey Iced Tea’ is a breezy record that screams summer.

Ash originally began as a classically trained tenor and went on to have a successful career in opera with many impressive credits under his belt. However, he longed to return to Hip Hop and R&B, genres he loved growing up. This track is the perfect mixture of the pop and dance pop. The record was written and produced by Ryan Stockbridge, and mixed by Joe Caserta, who have worked with HBO, BET, and artists like Britney Spears.

‘Sugar Honey Iced Tea’ incorporates 80’s style synths, and a tight groove to make it super catchy. The vocals sit in the mix perfectly. Unlike most songs, the verse is almost catchy as the chorus. The subject of the song itself is original, and while it definitely belongs somewhere on the top 100 charts, it stands by itself in terms of originality. Fans of artists like Jason Derulo and Khalid will enjoy this first single from the forthcoming debut album Ash plans to release later this fall.
