Argonaut&Wasp – Prove It To You // Body Sensations [Review]

Acclaimed electro-pop duo Argonaut & Wasp are back with two more awesome dance-rock jams Prove It To You and Body Sensations.

In true Argonaut & Wasp fashion, these colossal new tracks fuse funk, house and indie rock to generate an innovative and original sound that’s guaranteed to get you moving.

With inspiration ranging as wide as Daft Punk, Arcade Fire, Belle & Sebastian, The Black Keys and The Mars Volta, this an outfit that simply won’t be tied down, creating distinct anthems, each offering a new take on an expanding and malleable genre.

The first track Prove It To You is an electro-sensation, with thumping bass lines and grooving expressions. The vocals remind us of an early Calvin Harris, and each layer of this unmissable tune creates and builds on the winning funk formula we’ve come to expect from the band.

Body Sensations is cut from the same cloth as Prove It To You, although it could easily stand alone as a lone single if necessary. Comparisons could be drawn to the likes of Metronomy, Gorillaz or even Hot Chip, as the track drives on seamlessly through addictive melodies that you’ll want to keep on repeat.

Together these two tracks reinforce what we already know about Argonaut & Wasp. They are underrated masters of electric indie sounds, and if they aren’t already on your radar, hopefully they are now.

The band’s pop pedigree is undeniable, and their momentum is building, having played alongside international acts such as Breton, Lemaitre, Griz, RAC, BadBadNotGood, The Knocks, Dan Deacon, Charlie 2na, Atmosphere, Ja Rule, Rubblebucket, and Waka Flocka Flame.

We can’t wait to see what comes next from this exciting emerging outfit, but for the time being, we’ll settle for these fantastic new tracks, giving us yet another taste of the their undeniable and ever-increasing potential.
