Soulful singer-songwriter Alex Hepburn has just released her stunning new single ‘I Believe’.
A voice like Alex Hepburn’s feels like a rare commodity these days. With only one gig in Paris and a sharp Warner A&R plucking her from obscurity, she’s now been dropped onto the main stage.
Since then she’s toured with likes of Lianne La Havas, Alex Clare and Bruno Mars, and her first single smashed a platinum record in France – oh, and she’s Scottish, so that’s a bonus.
So Alex has just dropped a little ditty, at only 2:39 long, called ‘I Believe’, and on the face of it, it’s a really cool track – perfect for a lazy morning listen with a coffee. It’s the high calibre production that really lets the listener focus in on Hepburn’s exquisite vocals though, which roar over a clever sample of Aretha Franklyn’s stunning ‘People Get Ready’.
But when you dig a little deeper into the tone and intent of the song you’ll find an ever relevant message about freedom and equality, which makes the use of Franklyn’s original number all the more fitting. Definitely worth a spin!
